OLEUM NATURALE
orgànic
Drawings and oil paintings by Roberto Escoda
Roberto Escoda was born in Tortosa in 1927. He began his studies at the Art School of Tortosa in 1952. Later, he was accepted at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Barcelona, where years later he received his doctorate. In Tortosa, he taught at the Art School, the School of Work and the Joaquim Bau high school.
The agricultural landscape surrounding Tortosa is the benchmark of his work as it was for other painters of the same period such as Ferran Arasa, Benet Espuny or Frederic Mauri. The olive tree drawings and oil paintings you can see below, allow us to appreciate some amazing details that often go unnoticed.
With Roberto Escoda's paintings, we can observe the olive tree barks and ask ourselves why all the different shapes have appeared over the years. Enjoy them!
Thanks to Roberto, Leonardo Escoda and Pili Lanau for all the facilities to share the paintings.
